Paerangi - info is a digital resource that forms part of Paerangi, a new digital information and referral centre designed specifically for whānau hauā (whānau with impairments), nga marae and kaumātua.

Paerangi is considered the first of its kind in Aotearoa, particularly in how it provides information in audio and text conversational English, Te Reo Māori and NZ Sign Language.

It has been created in collaboration with Te Roopu Waiora, Te Kōtahi ā Tāmaki and Te Ohonga and has volunteer support from across the public and private sector.

The priority goal is keeping whānau and communities supported, informed and connected. While the focus right now is on COVID-19, the intention is for Paerangi to be a centre of accessible information for all whānau now and in the future.

Te Roopu Waiora Trust is a unique kaupapa Maori Organisation founded and governed by whanau with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities.
Since it began in 2001, Waiora has evolved and expanded its role of providing disability information and advice to also assisting whanau access Maori communities, providers, agencies and government.
Large projects are jointly guided and evaluated by our partners Tamaki Ngati Kapo Inc and Mana Tangata Turi

• Waiora works through strong partnerships and good community support to deliver services and unique, innovative projects.
• Supporting Te Kohanga Reo movement establish the first Kohanga Reo in Aotearoa where tamariki and their whanau with disabilities can participate with full supports and health services available
• With Auckland Disability Law providing professional legal advice for the disabled community of Tamaki Makaurau from Te Roopu Waiora Trust
• Working with our partners Tamaki Ngati Kapo Inc and Mana Tangata Turi to develop a Kaitiaki role and tools whanau can use to evaluate how services respond to their aspirations and needs
• With Counties Manukau District Health Board; The first Maori disability plan developed and monitored by whanau representatives, mana whenua and DHB management
• With our partners, Kaiarahi Tapiri Ltd and Associates: Using platforms of technology to improve whanau access to health and wellbeing services
• Supporting whanau research the development of the first marae in Aotearoa entirely designed by whanau with disabilities
